Helping Hands
Aimed at providing basic necessities such as food, shelter, health care, education mainly to children residing in the orphanages. Currently, we have chosen to provide basic supplies to Orphanages at Sri Shiva Shaikshanika Seva Ashrama, Kodanayakanahalli, Tumukur Dist and Antargange rehabilitation home for disabled, Antaragange Kolar district. During the next 10 years we see ourselves extend our care for more students from the orphanage.
Antaragange-project
AntargangeMentally challenged and disabled rehabilitation home, Antaragange Kolar Dist. Another place that we love to go is Antaragange which is situated near Kolar district popular for its sacredness due to water from NANDI hills. It is about 70 KMS from Bangalore. It is taken care by MR Shankar, who serves as its warden taking care of 40 children. The activities at this institution were directed towards helping children lacking basic infrastructure but also lacking good health. Many of them have disabilities. We extended our help by conducting screening camps to identify their problems and also to solve them. We are providing basic and necessary drugs to the children through out the year. The necessity of wheel chairs were identified and 8 higher generation wheelchairs were donated to them. We participated in many of the activities of the home tried to analyze the difficulties to run it and we have now come up with the Rehabilitation proposal and also to establish a new rehabilitation center there in the coming years.
We have taken up the responsibility to re-build the Anthargange orphanage to provide them with more facilities including a small-scale industry for them to work. This project has been planned in 3 phases – Phase 1, Phase 2, and Phase 3. Phase 1 – The renovation of the Anthargange orphanage buildings. According to our current estimations, this project would be complete by December 2016. Phase 2 – Establishment of a fully-fledged small-scale industry to manufacture products to be later sold in the market to make the center a self-sustained center. We are gathering ideas for the type of small-scale industry at this point, so please feel free to write to us in case you have a few good tips for us. In Phase 3 of this project, we are planning on a resort to provide accommodation for the tourists who visit Anthargange. To give you a little bit of background, it’s a hill station attracting tourists because of its unique caves. The weather conditions are great throughout the year except that it may be a little bit colder to camp at that site.

Around 70 children live in the ashram and attend schools on a regular basis.
